Victory!

The official Nanowrimo counter puts the word count at 53,782, a bit more than I thought based on WordPress totals (but I’m not arguing).
Back with further comment in due course. I’ve done a handy pdf version of the whole thing, to make it easier to read (in the unlikely event that anyone should want to).
Outline up
OK, so I think the outline is as complete as it’s going to be, and I’ve posted it here. But don’t read it. Not until December.
I’ve also put up links to Davenant’s Show, a play wot I wrote, and to my LiveJournal, which I acquired without wanting the blog, but have used a few times for ‘disappointing responses’ when inspiration struck.
The Outline
I’m not falling into the trap of waiting until 1 November before doing any work on this. It’s strictly forbidden to produce actual text before 1 November, but producing an outline is recommended. I hope to produce an outline of about 5,000 words setting out the story in some detail so that I always know where I’m going with it.
I’ve already got the first few chapters planned (I’m going for 20 chapters of 2,500 words each. or thereabouts) and I know exactly how the ending goes, but I must admit there’s a slight hole in the middle at the moment. The description of Chapter 6 currently reads, in full “John is stuck for ideas and starts getting Lady Sarah to read out the writing on the back of cornflake packets.”
